Weekend Shananigans – 5/13

This is a day late but whatever! i was busy and shit!

Friday Night, I hit Long Beach with the CREEPS… Bob The Barber and Ruben310 (Follow them on Twitter and Instagram) We were looking to shred a few beers so we decided to hit up 33 Degrees in Shoreline Village… This was my first time there! So they got a chalk board full of Beers they got on tap… (Ruben said they cycle out different beers every week or every other week or some shit like that… the menu is ALWAYS changing) and whats dope is they got the Alcohol percentage listed next to the price!

So we said fuck it lets just start with the strongest and work our way down the list! There’s about 30 beers on tap and they got another menu full of Bottled beers…

We started off with a pitcher of the Gonzo Imperial Porter 9.2%

Round 2 was the Wreck Alley Stout 9.5%

This beer SUCKED ASS! Shit tasted like fuckin COFFEE!!! I hate Coffee and i hate beer that taste like Coffee… hahahaa

Round 3: was the H24 Double IPA 9%

Now this one was good! Smelled like Beer and Tasted like Beer… My taste buds were back on track! Had to wash that Nasty ass coffee taste out my shit!

Ruben Vision:

alright now after we knocked this IPA down… Shit was rollin cool! We chopped up some business, cracked a few jokes, Future company plans…. and then some chicks roll into the bar with 2 dudes and the chick comes to bum a smoke off Ruben… Rube hooks her up and she gets her puff on and that was that!

Round 4: We got down with the Chocolate Porter 9%

This one was alright.. but by this time taste wasnt even a factor any more! We went from being highly critical about the beers to just ordering shit that had cool names hahahahaa!!!

Now we’re talkin a little louder, Laughin a little more, Clownin a little heavier… and the Smoker chick comes back for another smoke from Rube… So he hooks her up again! This time she lingers around our table for a cool minute then goes back to her friends…

Now we order another round! but by this time I instagram’d it but didnt put a name down or nothing… and Ruben did the same exact thing hahahahaa! So here’s a random mystery beer we ordered:

Now we’re gettin WEIRD! hahahaa I dont remember this beer or much of what happen after these pictures were taken! hahahahahaaa!!!

But we then ordered 3 bottles of: Ballast Point “Sea monster” and these fuckers were 10%

This was strictly Ruben Vision… I didnt even snap a pic of these and i dont remember drinking them or ordering them or even paying for them! hahahahaaa… But i do know that the smoker chick came back for another Cig… and this time she and her friend stuck around… She said the 2 dudes they came with were lame! and ended up hangin out with us! Then we all walked up Pine and shredded another bar… Then everything got fuzzy hahahaa i dont remember much!!! i kind of remember me and the smoker ended up losing everybody else, i got into a Outsider Type rumble in the bar, i lost the smoker chick durring the rumble and then lost everybody else, Ended up at the Hyatt, Then i was by the yard house then found Bob than i lost him again then found the smoker chick then lost her again by the Hyatt… and ended up at HOME! hahahahahahaaa I think thats how things worked out and happen!

Now.. according to text messages the next morning… Ruben never made it to Pine and just walked home… Bob caught a taxi back home but was on pine for a while and i woke up with all my clothes and shoes still on with a Carls Jr bag filled with 6 spicy chicken sandwiches UNtouched! hahahahaaaaaaa! we got ALL THE WAY WEIRD Friday night! hahahaaaaaaaaa

Saturday my homegirls hit me up and wanted to grab brunch! so we hit MVP and got down with the get down! Burgers, Sandwiches, Cajun fries, Chili Fries and all that! But i woke up drunk and i usually love me some MVP’s but that shit wasnt gettin along with all the beer in my belly! hahahahahaaa so i didnt get a chance to really shred all that food! But it was cool to get out and hang with them for a cool minute! Got home, Took care of some business than i shot over to Mom dukes for some pre Mothers day BarBQing with the fam!

Threw some Hawaiian Style Kalbi and shrimp on the Bar B and got busy! (NO Kalbi Pic)

after we grubbed my big bro Fabian rolled through and said he wanted to drink cuz the next day (mothers day) was his birthday! So we got some brew and got to work! hahahahaaa!! Swiggin at my moms spot, choppin it up about Vegas (we went to Vegas for his bday, D.Boy’s and Lalitos Cinco De Mayo weekend) and then headed to the Half Way bar to watch the Lakers squeeze out that Game 7 win over Denver! Thats when shit got really Gnarly! the whole crew was there and we all just had an old fashion Drink a Thon like the good ol’ days! hahahahahaaa!

Sunday, went to breakfast with the fam, uncles, aunts cousins, moms etc… the whole tribe… After that we headed up to green hills to kick it with grandma and just max’d out with the Fam…

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY to ALL the Moms and MILF’s that support their Local NOBODY’s!

This weekend was cool! I left alot of shit out but im tired of looking at this computer screen… hahahahaaa i’ll catch yall fuckers next time!

The NOBODY’s hit up Roscoe’s in Long Beach for a late Breakfast/ Early Lunch on Saturday… Now if you know ME… You know I stay killin chickens at Roscoe’s… hahahaaa!

You already know how i gets down! Ice Cold Sunset hits the spot Morning, Noon or Night! Thats Half Lemonade and Half Fruit Punch for those that DONT KNOW! Drinking anything else here is just out of the question…

Now i usually shred that Country Boy #9 also now known as the “Obama Special” which is (3 wings and a waffle) but i was starving like a hostage so i had to fuck with that Scoe’s special #1 (1/4 of a chicken and 2 waffles) with a side of Macaroni and Cheese! Red Rooster hot sauce, Double Butter Double Syrup… Come on mannnnnn!!!

If you live in the LA area… There should be NO excuse why you havent experienced this Taste Bud ORGASM yet! hahahaaa!!

MVP – The SHAQ Burger

The NOBODY’s hit up MVP’s Grill and Patio in Long Beach this past weekend to Shred the SHAQ BURGER! Be sure to check out the post about the FRIDGE Burger too!

So me and DREW vs FOOD headed down to Long Beach to get Gnarly and met up with Rubenski at MVP on 4th Street!

We cruised the Menu for a quick second… Then said FUCK IT! Lets see what the SHAQ is hittin for!

For those who dont know! The SHAQ is Two 1/3 pound Burger Patties, Double Bacon, Double Cheese, Double Avocado, lettuce, Tomato and secret sauce! This motha fucker aint no joke!

Its served in a basket chillin with some Pickles, Yellow Chile’s and spicy Carrots…

This shit aint for the rookies! I could barely shred a good first bite for the picture sake! and still didnt get into all of this burger!!! Now if your just hungry… I wouldnt suggest this Burger, but if your Starving like a hostage, then by all means go head and get your SHAQ on! Cuz this shit will fill your tank up! Ruben almost tap’d out half way into it, i almost let the Shaq Conquer me about 3/4 into it and Drew took his time with it cuz he was taking glamour shots of his burger for his Facebook! But we all ended up Fuckin SHAQ up!

We also had a full size basket of Cajun Fries too….

and with the Big Ass SHAQ burger plus all these fries… we barely put a dent into this basket! and we were all sharing these shits! We were just too full to even get gnarly on these bomb ass fries! hahaa **Side Note: you can see DREW vs FOOD snapping a pic of the fries fresh out the kitchen… If you follow him on twitter, you know he posts pics of everything he eats!**

MVP’s Grill and Patio – Long Beach

You know the NOBODY’s be grubbin! So we hit MVP’s in Long Beach off of 4th Street!

This is a real low key spot! You’ll pass it up if you aint lookin for it! Its chillin right in the middle of some appartment buildings and houses on 4th Street! Its a real small spot but the shit is BOMB! Whats dope about this place is its Affordable and all the Burgers and Sandwiches are named after Athletes (Hence the name MVP’s)

So lets get into it! I been here a few times and usually order the same things… But this time i tried something else and it was well worth it! I had the ‘FRIDGE’ Burger! Which is a Cheese Burger with all the normal toppings (Cheese {swiss}, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, Spread) but it was also topped with MothaFuckin PASTRAMI! BOOM! shit was intense!

Now for those that dont know who the Fridge is… Let me give you a little NFL history lesson… The Fridge is none other than William Perry! First Round Draft Pick back in 85 and he played for the Bears and Eagles… They called him the Refrigerator because of how BIG he was! The Fridge was 6’2 and like 390lbs… and this is back in the 80’s… muthafuckas wasnt built like that back then! hahahaaa!

My homegirl had the Michael Jordan! (Not sure why they call it the Michael Jordan) but its a Chicken Sandwich! Chicken is cajun seasoned with lettuce, Tomato, onions and the topped with a Pesto sauce… Shit is a winner also! my homegirl couldnt finish the whole sandwich cuz she got gnarly on the Cajun Fries! So i shredded some of that sandwich too! hahahaaa

Before i could snap a pic, my homegirl was elbow deep in the Fry Bag! We had got a full order! and a FULL order is pretty much a Brown Paper bag FILLED with Fries! They serve them regular or Cajun! I fucks with that Cajun and obviously my homegirl does too! Cuz she killed that WHOLE dam bag! hahahahahaaaa!

Dammmmm!! We were all just kickin it at Scatter Breign’s House and i pulled my phone out to check the time and i saw some of the saddest news ever! “Nate Dogg Past away!” Daaammmmm!!

For most this isnt bad news! But for a young kid born in 84 in Los Angeles!! This is Heart Breaking!!! Nate Dogg WAS West Coast Music! He embodied the West Coast Sound! When you heard his Voice you knew you were listening to something DOPE! He helped Records break Records!!! That signature Deep Low Tone voice that was melodic and rhythmic but still so hood and so Street! He could sing shit like “Yo Wife.. Is my Bitch! Yo Love.. Is my Trick” and make it a Banger! FACT!!
Nate Dogg to me is that West Coast Sound at its Prime! He made records THAT much better. If Nate was on your song you knew you had a winner hands down! He assisted Warren G on Regulate! And you cant tell me you dont sing EVERY word of that motha fucker whenever you hear it! In the car, at a party, at the barber shop, on your ipod, on MTV Jams (Cuz regular MTV dont play no fuckin videos) im saying!! When you hear “i got a car full of girls and its going real swelllllllllllll… Next stop is the East Siiiiidee…… MoteLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL” Shit! You already know! Motha fuckas wait till the end on “The Next Episode” just to say “SMOKE WEED EVERYDAYYYYYY” LOL hahaha and you dont say that shit regular! You say that shit in your deepest Nate Dogg voice you can do!!! LOL
Thats what i mean when i say Nate had that Classic West Coast Voice! Yeah he did songs with other artist across the country! But the Records he made on the West Coast made him the legend he is! Mack 10 said it best on “Gansta Nation” he said “it aint a Hit till Nate Dogg Spit”
Mannnnn!! If you grew up in Los Angeles and listened to that REAL West Coast shit! You cant help but be sad to hear that Nate Dogg Passed….. I feel blessed to be able to say i’ve seen Nate Dogg Rock a few shows before! I’ve heard’em sing live, i’ve seen him tell the DJ to cut the music off and just rock accapella! He was seriouslly Gifted! And to come out the neighborhood and SING! Most cats come out the hood wanting to be a rapper or make beats! Nate came out singing! And just shared his Talent with the world!!! You cant hate on what he did because he played his own game, drove in his own lane! Nobody was singing on that gangster shit, nobody was harmonizing on these real hood records! NATE had the game sewed up!! Wasnt nobody even coming close to what he was doing or the mediums he was pushing!!! Till this day still! There aint nobody fuckin with his style or even driving next to his lane! Yeah i was bummed when i heard Dre’s new KUSH record with the Nate Dogg “Sound A Like” i mean its a good attempt but who ever that was singing on it was only trying to ReCreate that Nate Dogg Sound!!! Because that sound is a Staple in West Coast music!!!
I Remember years back i took my brother to the Del Amo Swap Meet for his first time! And for those that dont know, the Del Amo Indoor Swap Meet is on Del Amo and Santa Fe… In the middle of Compton, Carson and Long Beach! And just a stones throw away from surrounding city’s like Gardena, Wilmington and Lakewood! So i take my brother and we’re cruising around and i see Nate Dogg at the Hat Spot! Low Key i tell my brother “check out Nate Dogg” and right away my brother was star struck and he dam there stalked Nate Dogg through out the WHOLE swap meet!!! Hahahahahahaaaaaaa all the way until he left!!! Hahahaaa but my brother was a cool creepy stalker! He always kept his distance from Nate like 1 or 2 booths back from where Nate was shopping! Hahahahahahaaa and this is before Cell Phones had Camera’s! I think we both still had Nextel’s before BOOST Mobile was even around! Hahahahahahaaaaa and i was cruisin around and my brother would hit me on the Nextel Walkie Talkie like “Bleep! Yo Nate Dogg just got a pack of Socks and some Pro Club Wife Beaters! I think im gona buy the same Socks and Wife Beaters as him Bleep” hahahaaaaaaa

But on some real shit! Tonight when i heard the news, i was blown back for a minute! I jumped in my car to head home and KDay was jammin all Nate Records!! And it just takes you back when you hear a song, to a certain age, or a place or a memory of when that song was playing!! Being that i was Born and Raised in Southern California, Los Angeles.. GARDENA to be exact! Nate’s music influenced the sound that i embody as “West Coast” music! And being a independent Rapper, i respect his music, him as a person and the culture he lived and represented. Coming up from the same streets we all grew up in!!! To His Family and the Dogg Pound… My Prayers are with ALL of You!!

Its a Sad Day on the West Coast!! We lost a true Legend and a Respected G!!! RIP Nate Dogg!
